01. Acceptance
Palate (the “app”) is a private restaurant journal made by Bing Studios (“we,” “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Palate. These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy.
02. The service
Palate is a single-user tool for keeping a private record of the restaurants and meals you want to remember, tier marks, notes, photos, a map, and a printable year-end edition. Nothing you save is published, ranked, or shared by us. The app is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.
03. Your account
You sign in with Apple, Google, or email. You’re responsible for keeping access to that sign-in, and for the activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country, and at least 13. Keep your contact email current so we can reach you about your account.
04. Purchases & billing
Palate is free for up to 30 restaurants. Two paid options unlock more:
- · Palate Pro, an auto-renewing subscription ($4.99/year) for unlimited entries and a fresh annual PDF.
- · The 2026 Edition , a one-time purchase ($9.99) that unlocks the current year’s volume, restorable forever.
All payments are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play, under their terms, we never see your card details. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you manage or cancel them in your App Store or Google Play account, not through us. Prices may change with notice; refunds are handled by the store you purchased through, subject to its policy.
05. Acceptable use
Don’t use Palate to break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, or interfere with the service, including attempting to reverse-engineer, resell, or overload it, or uploading content you don’t have the right to keep. We may suspend access that puts the service or other people at risk.
06. Your content
Everything you put into Palate, restaurants, visits, notes, and photos, is yours. You grant us only the narrow, technical permission needed to store, sync, and render your guide back to you (for example, generating your annual PDF). We don’t claim ownership of your content and we don’t use it to train models or to make decisions about anyone else.
07. Our intellectual property
The Palate app, its name and logo, the “Palate.” wordmark, the tier marks, and the design of the annual edition belong to Bing Studios. These terms don’t transfer any of that to you beyond the right to use the app as intended.
08. Disclaimers & liability
Palate is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work to keep your guide safe and synced, but we can’t guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and you’re responsible for keeping your own copies of anything critical (the annual PDF export exists for exactly this). To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bing Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app.
09. Ending things
You can stop using Palate at any time and delete your account from Me → Settings → Danger zone → Delete account, or by following the steps on our account-deletion page. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken. Purchases already made are handled under the relevant store’s policy.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. If a change is material, we’ll surface a notice in the app and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Palate after a change means you accept the updated terms.
